Following a highly competitive RFP process, the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) contracted IR to facilitate three public participation events concerning the regional water system. This outreach encompassed twenty separate connections including representatives from Sunshine Coast Tourism, the Sunshine Coast Conservation Association, the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization (SCREDO), six neighbourhood associations and the Farmers’ Institute. IR presented a suite of 14 additional complex policy options for the SCRD to consider in the long term. SCRD’s final evaluation of our work was that it exceeded expectations, especially considering how contentious and divisive the water supply issue has been on the Sunshine Coast.
